Saltburn

This is a piece I created in my spare time using ink, charcoal and watercolours. I really like the dark effect that combining these three medums has created and do a lot of personal work in this style.

Insomniac

This is a piece completed using oil paints from my Unit 2 study of insomnia.

Depression

This is one of my final pieces from my Unit three study on mental illnesses. I completed this painting in around 12 hours using oil paints. I am extremely happy with the outcome of this painting, especially when put in comparison with my unit 1 & 2 work.

Fairy tale

This was a piece from my Unit One study of good & evil. I am not at all happy with the outcome of this painting however it was my first attempt at using oil paints and I believe it helps to illustrate just how much I have developed.

Life drawng 3

This is another piece I completed whilst drawing from life. I feel that this piece really helped me to understand the proportions of the human body. It was completed using chalk and charcoal

Crying eye

This is a preparation piece from my Unit 3 study on mental illnesses. I created this piece in order to practice drawing and painting a crying eye, as I knew I would be using one in my final painting. It was completed using watercolour and I  am very happy with the outcome.

Prep board 2

This is a second preparation board for my Unit 2 examination on the theme of Insomnia. Here I have practiced sketching a tired eye using pencil, sketched a tired face using biro and created a Salvador Dali styled clock using ink and water. The clock was representative of how an insomniac loses all concept of time. I have also included research on Salvador Dali on this preparation board.

Prep board 1

This is a preparation board I completed for my Unit 2 examination. On this piece I have experimented with oil paints, produced a sketch and included artist research

Drawing Alex

This is a preparation piece for my Unit three. I created this drawing using a variety of pencil and it took me around 5 hours to complete. However I am extremely happy with the outcome of this drawing and believe it shows how much I have developed since starting A-level art

Watercolour wrist

This is another preparation piece for my Unit three work on  mental illnesses. I am very happy with the effect the watercolours have created.

Crying charcoal

This is one of my Unit three preparation pieces. It is done using charcoal and although I am happy with the effect the charcoal has created I feel that more time should have been spent studying the proportions of the face.

Flowers

I created this piece in my free time using ink, charcoal and watercolour and I'm happy with the overall outcome of the piece.

Life drawing 2

Another quick piece I completed while at life drawing classes, using charcoal and chalk

Mary

A drawing I completed at home using pencil. I am very interested in religion based artwork and I'm happy with the outcome of this drawing.

Life drawing 1

Quick sketch completed during a life drawing class in order to practice correct proportions when drawing from life.
